Open-Source Technologies in Academia: A Conversation with Professor Andrej Brodnik
Join us for the next event in the monthly AI, Coffee, and the Jazz of Thinking series, where we will turn to the topic of open-source technologies, their advantages and limitations, and the role they play in academia.
Our guest will be Professor Andrej Brodnik, a computer scientist and researcher who teaches at the University of Primorska and the University of Ljubljana. His research focuses on data structures and efficient algorithms. In this conversation, we will take a closer look at the ideas and assumptions that often surround open-source technologies, and reflect on why they matter in today’s world, especially for universities, research, and teaching.
The event will take place on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 2:00 PM at Armeria, Titov trg 4, Koper.
After the conversation, there will be time to stay for coffee and informal discussion.
